Pronounced "Scruffey," S.C. Ruffey is an old experienced truck with a bad attitude and rough habits.

2006 Character Card[]

S.C Ruffey (pronounced "scruffy") is an old freight car with a bad attitude. He encourages the other Troublesome Trucks to cause the engines as many problems as they can. After his trick on Oliver backfired, though, S.C. Ruffey learned a valuable lesson.

Trivia[]

  • S.C. Ruffey's prototype was first approved on 28 April 1995.
  • A prototype S.C. Ruffey seen in the 1996 yearbook features flat magnets, printed decals and a much smaller face that was developed from Boco's.
    • Another prototype from the same yearbook features a different, smaller face which is raised up on his body, as well as retaining the flat magnets and the printed decals.
    • A third prototype features crossed eyes.
  • The original S.C. Ruffey was sold separately in New Zealand in 2006. This was also the case with the 2001 Rusty and the 1997 Stepney.
  • The 2006 S.C. Ruffey was never released in Europe, although his 1997 version was sold separately there at the time. This is also the case with the 2004 Oliver.
  • The 2006 S.C. Ruffey has a slightly longer chassis than other similar trucks.
  • The first prototype Troublesome Trucks and Sweets depicts S.C. Ruffey as the Sodor Sweet Shoppe Troublesome Truck.
