- The 2008 pamphlet mislabels it as Adventure of James.
- James with Team Colors was recalled in 2007 for lead paint.
- Busy as a Bee James' character card says a signalman laughed at him, but in the episode it was actually a group of children. This is actually from the original version of the scene where Percy's mix-up caused an accident.
- The Adventures of James is not featured in the 2009 yearbook.
- The back of the box states that both engines have unique facial expressions, when Busy as a Bee James is the only one to have a new face.
