- Murdoch's front wheels cannot move from side to side, much like those of Arthur, Connor, Caitlin, Streamlined Emily, Frieda and Racing Vinnie because of the encasing plastic.
- Murdoch's prototype features a different face, a more-protruding front magnet, a smaller dome, a less-rounded firebox, and a repainted tender from Emily.
