Front booklet description[]

Did you know that before he was the cheeky little engine we know today, the very first Thomas toy was carved out of a broom handle? Thomas has come a long way since his humble beginnings!

This special pack lets you enjoy a replica Thomas engine just like the very first one, along with a new engine celebrating Thomas' rich heritage of friendship.

Trivia[]

  • Both prototypes of Thomas 1942 have a red bufferbeam, while the final version lacks it. The second prototype also features a yellow dome and upainted wheels instead of having silver wheel spokes.
  • The prototype Thomas 2015 features a shinier gold finish and a gold magnet, both of which are absent on the final version.
  • Thomas 1942 has a face, which the original version made in 1942 lacked. The face of Thomas 1942 is modeled after 2002 Thomas with different eyebrows.
  • Thomas 1942 is taller than standard engines, making it hard for him to pass through some bridges and tunnels due to his funnel. It is also the only vehicle which cannot go up ascending track, as he has no bogie.
  • Thomas 1942 always had painted wheel spokes even though most other characters at the time no longer had them.
