Learning Curve (LC) was the first company to produce and own the Thomas Wooden Railway brand as well as Take Along and Interative Railway toys. It was purchased by RC2 in 2003 for $116.7 million and became a subsidiary of it. RC2 was sold to TOMY in 2012. The company was absorbed by the TOMY brand. However, the Learning Curve brand still exists, continuing to manufacture their other products.
Learning Curve was founded in 1992 by John Lee. It began producing Thomas Wooden Railway toys in 1992 under the direction of Roy Wilson.
On the old boxes, Learning Curve stated the trains were for ages 2 to 102.
