Neil is an old tank engine who worked on the Sodor and Mainland Railway. He is a simple but kind character who befriended Skarloey when he was young.
Trivia
- Neil has a dome on his model, but in the Railway Series, along with his real-life basis, he lacks one. It is possible that the dome is meant to resemble his safety valve.
- His Prototype has a thinner face and brighter lettering on his sides.
- Neil is the second shortest engine (in height) in the Wooden Railway range, the first being Mike.
- Interestingly, Neil's 1999 models had their names on the Chassis, which was before the official introduction of names being printed on the bottom of models.
