Splatter and his twin Dodge are Diesel 10's silly side-kicks. They plot and scheme, but are not really quite as tough as they would like to think they are.

- The first prototype of Splatter features no nameplate and a gray running board instead of a purple one.
- Unlike other characters available at the time, Splatter never received painted eyes.
- Splatter always had a cab ledge despite being available after 2002 when most other engines' cab ledges were removed. This also happened with Mike and Dodge.
- However, his cab ledge was given a slight update in late 2002 to remove the square piece that ran down the middle of most cab ledges. This also happened with Dodge.
- Splatter was also the last engine introduced with a cab ledge.
