Wilbert is a smart blue saddle-tank engine with six wheels. His line in the forest was short, so he was delighted to help out Donald and Douglas on the branch lines. He is named after the Rev. Wilbert Awdry.

  • Wilbert is one of the three real engines to be made in the range. The others being Stepney and the Flying Scotsman.
  • The prototype Wilbert had a thicker face, a less rounded funnel and dome, a blue running board, and larger cab windows.
